A laser gun

Pistolet.jpg

Material :
  • 2 aluminium tubes : 10 x 210 mm.
  • 1 aluminium tube : 12 x 65 mm.
  • 1 aluminium tube : 12 x 50 mm.
  • 1 aluminium tube : 14 x 44 mm.
  • 1 aluminium tube : 14 x 29 mm.
  • 1 aluminium tube : 16 x 145 mm.
  • 1 aluminium tube : 16 x 120 mm.
  • 2 aluminium tubes : 6 x 26 mm.
  • 1 aluminium tube : 6 x 6 mm.
  • 1 aluminium round : 10 x 8 mm.
  • 1 screw : 3 x 30 mm.
  • 1 threaded rod : 3 x 65 mm.
  • 1 threaded rod : 3 x 70 mm.
  • 3 nuts : 3 mm.
  • 1 small push button.

    Advice :
  • Firsly draw a diagram on a small squares (5 x 5 mm) sheet.
  • Saw 16 mm tubes (be careful, not completely) only 3/4 of it so that you'll be able to fold them without breaking them.
  • The slope of the butt is given by a triangle which base is 15 mm long, we will bewel.
  • Drill a 2,5 mm hole from one end to the other the round to screwtap. (3 mm)
  • Assemble the trigger guard by screwing the 70 screws (vertical) and the 65 screws (horizontal) and by slipping the 2 aluminium tubes. (6 x 26 mm)
  • The trigger will give you the measure to drill the tube and put in the small push button at the right place : the button acts as trigger.
  • The push button makes clickety-clack when you press on it and will be the first assembled when every thing is ready.
  • Put the 10 mm tubes in the 12 mm ones.
  • Present the assembly to see the result it can give.
  • Locate and drill in the 16 mm big tube in a way to make the 2 barrels put on top of each other, cross the butt.
  • Drilling askew isn't easy. Take your time ! Start with a 3 mm drill then gradually take bigger ones.
  • If you don't find a 14 mm tube, take a 12 mm one and saw it in half in in the length so that you get a telescopic haft. (anyway, you won't see it afterwards because you use it as a wedge)
  • Drill the pile of tubes to slide the threaded rod. (3 x 70)
  • Drill the end of the barrel 5 mm from the edge to fix the 3 x 30 screw and its 6 x 6 mm aluminium tube. (5,5 mm bent wrench)
  • The screw head will be filed in a reverse V shape to get the line of sight.
  • To fix the trigger : first put the 65 mm screw and its nuts. (use a pair of tweezers)
  • Make the 6 x 26 mm tube slide, screw the 10 x 8 round, place the second 6 x 26 mm tube and screwing slide the 70 mm.
  • Place the nut, stick it, cut the surplus and file in a V shape to get the line of sight.

    Option :
  • The best would have been to slide in the lower barrel a real laser which we find in a few key rings, but the inner diameter of the tube is 8 mm and there's little chance to find a laser this size !
  • Whatever, the first version is the safest, because go and say to kids to aim at the eyes with a real laser gun !!!
