A punch machine for A4 paper

Perfora.jpg

Material :
  • 1 plexiglass piece : 275 x 80 x 7 mm.
  • 1 plexiglass piece : 30 x 15 x 7 mm.
  • 1 aluminium ruler : 8 x 8 x 260 mm.
  • 4 punch machines with 1 hole.
  • 8 special heads screws : 5 x 20 mm.
  • 8 nuts : 5 mm.
  • 8 spring lock washers : 5 mm.
  • 4 hexagonal heads screws : 4 x 10 mm.
  • 4 spring lock washers : 4 mm.
  • 1 hexagonal head screw : 3 x 30 mm.
  • 1 small aluminium tube : 6 x 12 mm.

    Advice :
  • This assembly can appear a little obsolete, because we can find punch machines A4 quite cheap in supermarkets.
  • But if you love being an handyman and you find, at the bottom of a drawer, 4 punch machines with 1 hole (quite identical) and an old aluminium rule, then it is the moment to make yours.
  • To cut the plexiglass with a cutter and to drill it, go backwards (video rack), so that I won't ramble !
  • You'll draw with a point and on the hidden face of the base.
  • Once all your holes are done, present a punch removed from its plastic base (which collects confettis), locate the 4 mm holes.
  • Be careful : the nuts mustn't hamper the springs.
  • Before fixing them, drill 2,5 mm holes, then screw tap (3 mm) to prepare the fixing of the grip block : it will be at the same level as the principal base.
  • Make sure that the countersink screws are well in the thread and take care that you don't tighten them to much, if not you're likely to break the plexiglass.
  • Locate the holes on the ruler and then drill them (3,2 mm). But do not screw tap right now, because you'll need the ruler as a gauge to drill the levers.
